Share the joy of riding with our kids bikes

Used Bikes: We have a large inventory of preowned bikes for children. The most common sizes we have are 16”, 20 and 24” but sometimes we have other sizes. These are great bikes which have been checked for safety and tuned up with parts replaced if they’re more than 50% worn. A preowned bike is a fantastic way to save money.

Trade in: We realize it can be costly to keep buying bikes as your kid grows, so we offer a trade in program for bikes purchased from our store.

Proper sizing is critical. Too big and riding is not fun, nor safe. Your rider needs to be in control and confident to fully enjoy their bikes safely.

Oftentimes we have customers who want to purchase a kids bike that will last for “several years”. That’s probably not realistic, as kids grow fast! It is also not safe. We take the time to educate parents, by showing them the larger bike, allowing their kid to try it and while the child is riding we demonstrate that their feet cannot touch the ground and they cannot safely come to a quick stop etc. Then we have the child test ride a size smaller and we then show the parent what to look for in a proper fit. When their kid returns from riding the proper size bike, 99% of the time they have a huge smile on their face because it feels amazing. It doesn’t take long to convince the parents to buying a properly fitting bike.

Birthday club offering a free gift to a child each year.Birthday Club: FREE!!! Ask how your child can be a member of our birthday club. Each year (until they’re into adult sized bikes), club members will receive a birthday card which is redeemable for a free gift, anytime in their birthday month. We don’t’ want to say what the gifts are, but right now, they are pretty cool Brightz brand items. We also take that time to offer a free safety check of your child’s bike.

Helmets & Other Stuff: We carry infant, toddler and kids sizes and are ready to help you fit your child into the proper size helmet.

Kids Bike FAQ’s

Kids grow at varying rates, but typically about 2 years give or take. Once your child has outgrown the bike purchased from us, we’re happy to help out with a trade in credit toward the next size. Trade in credits vary depending on the condition of the bikes.
No, we unfortunately cannot take bikes that are not bike-shop quality. We only sell top of the line, those which have top quality materials, have been professionally assembled and maintained. Sometimes we will take trade ins for top brands purchased elsewhere, but that’s on a case-by-case basis, depending on the condition of the bike and if we have a need for that size in our inventory. Bikes purchased from us are always welcome as trade ins.
Your child’s safety is our priority, so we wouldn’t recommend buying a bike that’s too big. Children need to be able to ride safely so they can gain confidence and skills. A bike too large is difficult to control, especially during turning and stopping. Riders should be able to stand over the top tube with their feet flat on the ground. The bike should have a comfortable reach to the handlebars, and the seat height should be adjusted to allow a slight bend in the knee when the foot is on the pedal.
BMX are super popular for bike parks, however any bike with decent tire tread will work, such as mountain or even some hybrids.
Yes, we are happy to professionally assemble bikes purchased elsewhere.
Unfortunately, geared bikes cannot accommodate training wheels after market. There is no place to attach them. We might be able to help you fit the existing bike a little better –by lowering the seat so your youngster can learn balance on the bike. We also have removed pedals from bikes to temporarily convert them into “balance bikes”. Then your youngster can learn balance without needing training wheels. When ready, we can re-assemble the bike.
Yes, we do have kids bikes which do not have gears. The bigger bikes, 24” and larger will all have gears (except BMX). Keep in mind that your child doesn’t need to use the gears, the gear can be set to a middle gear until they’re ready to fully use the range.
All new bikes (kids and adults) come with one free complete tune-up. The manufacturer recommends doing the free tune-up at 60 days, however we extend this up to one year. Bikes are covered under warranty as well, so we take care of any warranty issues. We also do minor adjustments for the life of bike, such as raising seats, raising training wheels, tightening kickstand etc.. Anytime there is a concern, we welcome the bikes in for a quick inspection.
